The European Anti-Fraud Office is co-ordinating the enquiries and investigations being conducted in the Member States: Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Sweden in respect of suspected irregularities on importation into the Community of knitted textiles of HS chapter 61 (mainly jerseys, pullovers, cardigans) declared as originating in Jamaica. The elements available, however, indicate that the goods concerned do not satisfy the required origin criteria and, therefore, cannot benefit from the preferential treatment granted to products originating in Jamaica, member of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States.
