13. The Royal Court invariably issues a draft of its judgments to the parties before the decision is made final and public. The purpose of this is not to enable the parties to question the decision but for the parties to identify any factual errors or typographical errors in the draft judgment and also to consider the form of order that is necessary to give effect to the judgment, and any further orders that may be sought (e.g. costs or leave to appeal). Then the judgment (corrected if necessary) is formally issued. This can happen simply by email to the parties, but often it will be formally "handed down" at a hearing. The orders become effective from that date, and an Act of Court is produced to state the orders made.
