Bedoelde briefwisseling mondde uit in het “Protocol between the Government of the Kingdom of The Netherlands and the Government of Japan relating to settlement of the problem concerning certain types of private claims of Netherlands nationals” van 13 maart 1956 (hierna: het Yoshida-Stikker-Protocol) dat in Nederland op 1 juni 1956 in werking is getreden na stilzwijgende parlementaire goedkeuring (Trb. 1956, 28 en Trb. 1956, 100).
